aims of the comp

To encourage the development of independent filmmakers and producers.

  • To encourage development of 'business skills' in live presenting often neglected at film schools.

  • To encourage the community to collaborate and engage with one another.

  • Create a wonderful piece of narrative content which will develop beyond the competition.

Part of GoodBadMad's mission is to highlight and create opportunities for development in the creative industries. This competition would require the entrant to develop their pitching skills in both written and verbal form, in order to recieve the financing provided by the competition sponsor.

Double J Productions are on-board to produce and supervise production of the winning project, as well as provide continued mentoring of the successful filmmakers.

The film will be selected by a panel including representatives from GoodBadMad, Double J Productions & the Sponsorship company - PickleJar.

  • 'Being a part of the AWL crew was such a fantastic experience, every member of cast and crew are some of the most talented and lovely people I've met, which helped create an incredibly fun yet professional environment. Getting experience working on AWL was amazing and has really helped kick-start my filmmaking career'

  • Working on AWL was a great experience. It was a lovely talented and cohesive team to be part of. Generationally I was the oldest member of the crew, however, I was never made to feel my age by this group of young filmmakers. The beauty of having diversity within a crew is the ability for everyone to learn from each other, everyone has valid technical or life experiences that can be drawn on. I think the end result actually proves the importance of teamwork and I'd work with any of them again in a heartbeat.”
