Into the Unknown
The day-to-day of life is a funny thing. It’s predictable and unpredictable in equal measure. This time of year, we think we’ve got it all planned out. We have exciting goals that we’re grappling with, we’re on a buzz with new collaborations which are starting to bare fruit - it feels safe...predictable. We’re comforted by this regularity. In the creative fields, this feeling is like gold dust, as contracts get cancelled without warning, projects and funding disappear or tenuous freelance roles drop off. We grasp at security like it will solve all of our future problems. We ride the high.
When we launched GoodBadMad at the beginning of COVID, we truly couldn’t have foreseen the pivots we’d make, directions we would turn, or the amazing collaborations we’ve had. That our community resources would be being made by our community. That shifting to provide for our audience meant moving away from our pre-conceived ideas of what this business should be, towards what it needs to be. We’re shuffling things up, behind closed doors and we’re excited to bring you all on the journey with us to create a truly supportive community for creatives.
As we do so, we feel pleasantly surprised by the fact that our biggest comfort as we stride out into new waters, is that the only thing that we can ever be sure of, is that you never know what’s coming next.
You just have to be open to it.
