creative happiness
The guests attending our October 'Connecting Creatives' event last week brought one word to the forefront of my mind. Resilience. Pure resilience.
This was a group of young creatives, most of whom have full time 'survival jobs', eager to pursue their passions proactively. This was a group of people determined to approach each other with kindness and open minds, eager to offer rather than simply take.
We had creatives there practising their english accent, creatives who wanted to make a career change from Finance to Writing, and creatives who were resolute to not let a bad experience stop them in their tracks. There were creatives seeking others for specific projects, and many finding new creatives to team up with.
All these actions take bravery, take determination and take resilience. I felt so privileged to witness our guests pursue their dreams in a proactive, engaging and kind way.
There's a feeling I often associate with creative projects, something I haven't found in the 'normal' workplace often. It's an energy which radiates to every pore; it tingles, it glows, and it invigorates.
A scientist might call is adrenaline; me - I call it 'creative happiness'.
And sometimes...to reach that feeling, you need to be resilient. How can you practice resilience this month?
