Stubborn is a superpower

…it’s been a while since I wrote one of these.

The big lesson I’ve learned this year is that being bloody stubborn is a good thing. Back in March, our social accounts were hacked and disabled. For a small business and community - it was a death sentence. Things became very tricky, I won’t lie… it was a battle of attitude, persistence and self-belief. A reflection on both entrepreneurship and the entertainment industry I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. Thank you to all of you who checked in, and continued to support this venture whilst we were down…it meant the world, and really showed that this community means something to a lot of people. It reminded me of why I started GoodBadMad in the first place, that when things get tough in this weird industry, who do you turn to? For me, it’s this community. It makes me want to dig my feet in, and stay on the path. I hope it does for you too.

Recently, we got our accounts back (thanks to a number of people…you know who you are!) and we’re coming back big. We have a Screening & Networking event in December to round off this year, and a Short Film Pitch Competition running with our amazing partners. Come next year….buckle your seatbelts.
